Fall-off-the-bone juicy and tender oven-baked ribs with a little razzle dazzle. The Jack Daniels adds a lovely hint of smokey flavour to the ribs.
The secret to this recipe is to bake the ribs low and slow
Ingredients:
+/- 1kg Pork Spare Rib
Chicken spice
Juice of 2 lemons
Jimmy's Steak Sauce
1 & 1/2 Tablespoon German mustard
1 Tablespoon honey
2 Tablespoons Jack Daniels Whiskey
Preparation:
1. Start prepping your ribs a day ahead. Start by rubbing it with a generous amount of chicken spice and finishing it off with the juice of the lemons. This helps prevent any toughness and adds to the flavour. Let the ribs rest overnight in the fridge.
2. Start prepping the Jack Daniels BBQ Glaze by combining the whiskey, Jimmy's Sauce, mustard and honey. Mix well. The Jack Daniels adds a lovely hint of smokey flavour to the glaze
3. Preheat oven to 140 degrees celsius. Drain the remaining lemon juice from the ribs and bake for 1-2 hours (depending on the thickness of the meat). Remember, the key here is to bake it low and slow
3. Once the ribs are baked to your satisfaction, baste them with the Jack Daniels BBQ glaze and grill at 230 degrees celsius until it has a beautiful brown colour.
4. Let it rest for 5min and serve
Enjoy!
